Forklifts are used on hourly basis. When you go to see a used forklift for sale, ask the owner for how many hours he has used the forklift. Used forklifts are compared seeing the number of hours they have worked and not by the year a particular model has come out of the factory.

Also look how the forklift has been maintained and if it is services on regular intervals. Also check if any parts of the forklift have been replaced or not. Also see for the warranty period. If it still has long warranty period, then it can be your safest purchase.
